The Curated Curl™ is a small website (the “Site”) that has every intention to respect your privacy.  Our goal is to collect only the information about you and your use of our Site that are necessary to provide you with the best online experience while using our Site.

The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to provide you with a clear explanation of when, why and how The Curated Curl and our third-party vendors (collectively “we”) acting on our behalf to help deliver the Site services and operate and analyze use of the Site, may collect and use your personal information, and the rights and choices available to our visitors and users regarding such information.

  1.  What Information Do We Collect?

We collect two types of information from you: a) Personally identifiable information, includes personal information (such as your name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, credit card information and/or other identifying information) you voluntarily supply upon request when you join our mailing list, send us a message through a contact form, or, (when an online store is added in the future),  make a purchase; and b) Non-personally identifiable information, for example IP Addresses and cookies, which includes tracking information collected as you navigate through our site.

2.  How and Why We Collect Information?

a. There are three main methods for how we collect:

  1. We collect information through your use of the Site. When you browse or use our Site, we are aware of it and may collect your computer’s IP address, browser information and reference site domain, as well as related information such as the date on which you visit the Site, how long you visited, and related information, either independently or with the help of third-party services, including through the use of “cookies” and other tracking technologies.

  2. We collect information which you provide us voluntarily. For example, we collect the personally identifiable information you provide us when you register for our mailing list; make a purchase in our online store, and/or when you contact us directly by any communication channel (e.g. emails). 

  3. We also collect information from third party sources as described in Section 3 below.

 

b. These are the main reasons for why we collect information:

  1. To provide and operate the Site;

  2. To fulfil those purposes specified by us at the time we collected the information

  3. To provide our users with ongoing customer assistance and technical support;

  4. To be able to contact our visitors with general or personalized service-related notices and promotional messages;

  5. To create aggregated statistical data and other aggregated and/or inferred non-personally identifiable information, which we or our business partners may use to provide and improve our respective services; 

  6. To comply with any applicable laws and regulations.

 

3.  How we store, use, share and disclose your personal information.

 

The Curated Curl is hosted by the Wix.com platform (“Wix”). Wix provides us with the online platform that allows us to provide our services and sell our products to you. Wix may share your personally identifiable information with third parties (or otherwise allow them access to it) in the manners and instances described in Section 2.b. above.  Your data may be stored through Wix’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. Wix stores your data on secure servers behind a firewall. 

All direct payment gateways offered by Wix and used by The Curated Curl adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

 

4. How we communicate with you.

We may contact you to notify you regarding your account, to troubleshoot problems with your account, to resolve a dispute, to collect fees or monies owed, to poll your opinions through surveys or questionnaires, to send updates about our company, or as otherwise necessary to contact you to enforce applicable national laws, and any agreement we may have with you. For these purposes we may contact you via email, telephone, text messages, and postal mail.

 

5.  How we use of cookies and other tracking technologies.

Wix, together with its marketing, analytics and technology partners, uses certain monitoring and tracking technologies (such as cookies, beacons, pixels, tags and scripts). These technologies are used in order to maintain, provide and improve our Site on an ongoing basis, and in order to provide our visitors with a better experience. For example, thanks to these technologies, we are able to maintain and keep track of our user’s preferences and authenticated sessions, to better secure our Site, to identify technical issues, user trends and effectiveness of campaigns, and to monitor and improve the overall performance of our Site.

By default, we use several persistent cookies for purposes of session and user authentication, security, keeping your preferences (e.g., regarding default language and settings), connection stability (e.g., for uploading media, using e-Commerce features, etc.), monitoring performance of our Site and marketing campaigns, and generally providing and improving our Site.

Clear Gifs: Wix and its third party services may employ a software technology called “clear gifs” (a.k.a. Web Beacons/Web Bugs), which enables them and us to improve our Site by measuring their effectiveness and performance. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, however are not stored on your device, but instead embedded within our Site.

Flash and HTML5: Wix and its third party services may also employ certain tracking technologies known as “Flash cookies” and “HTML5”, mainly for advertising purposes. Various browsers may offer their own management tools for removing or blocking such technologies. Please check this page periodically for any changes. Your continued use of this Site following the posting of any changes to these terms shall mean that you have accepted those changes. We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website.
